Eevee Plush by Luminous-Luchador Eevee Plush by Luminous-Luchador
I made this little guy for a con in October. At first I reeeeeally didn't like him, because of the fabric he's made out. You just have to make one mistake and you can't unravel it, because you get holes in the fabric as soon as you try -.-" And I've misplaced the thing to undo the seams somewhere..that's kinda annoying..
But whatever.
After I was done I was kinda fond of him because seriously, his face is just cute :D He's 30cm big, just as big as the original Eevee. And it's supposed to be standing, but since I made a little mistake, it's a bit wobbly on its feet ^^
Also the breast is a bit small, but since you can't see it anyways, it doesn't matter :D probably it doesn't look that weird if it's made from another fabric..maybe I'll try it if I have the time..

patterns: IMPORTANT: the size of the pattern is DIN A4!

Oh another question, what does the back of the head look like?

Some of the pattern pieces look like they are cut off, like the belly and the back pieces. Or do those pieces just end right at the edge of the paper?

since they are too big for a A4 paper, I needed to part them :)
that's why there are two belly pieces for example.. they should overlap.. same with the body piece - the legs didn't fit onto the paper, so the rest of the legs is on another pattern sheet..
you get what I mean? :D

Yeah, I just wish I could see the whole piece as one instead of separated, but its ok lol

Do you think for the most part this pattern could be used to make an Espeon or Umbreon?

I'd say the vaporeon (or the jolteon I'm working on right now - same base as vaporeon) are more suited for espeon or umbreon, but people have made oder eeveelutions before with this pattern, so I'm sure it'll work just fine! :)

Okay, thank you! I'll take a look at the Vaporeon pattern :) Also, did you use an embroidery machine to do the eyes or is it felt that has been hand sewn on?

For the eevee I used felt, for the vaporeon the embroidering machine :)

And if I ever have the time, I'll make another Eevee pattern, Eevee 2.0, just like I did with mew, since it seems to be pretty popular

Thank you for the pattern! Here is my result: scribo-per-potestas.deviantart…
I literally used the very last of my brown fleece for this, so I had to adjust the ears slightly to make it work. I also wasn't feeling fur all over my room so I used regular fleece for the collar, too.

You're welcome :)
And I'm glad you like it, although it's not perfect and I had no time no make a better one (yet) :(

Anyways, I used plush, that really soft, short haired fabric (has two different sides..one is curly-ish, the other side is straight..)
But that's quite a difficult fabric to work with, since it easily rips when you unstitch it..
So if you're a beginner, I'd say you should use either fleece or sth like minky..sth that's not stretchy..basically it's like this:
The fluffier it is, the more difficult it'll be :D
Hope I could help :)

I can't wait to try your template so for sylveon all I have to do is make the legs smaller?
Reply
:iconluminous-luchador:
Luminous-Luchador Featured By Owner Jun 7, 2015  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
you also have to change the belly part ;) the line between the leg holes needs to be longer..
I'll show you what I mean (Dowload the pics, I'll delete them as soon as you answer ;)) :
www.dropbox.com/sh/dnusm9vt4mr…

And a short explaination:
start with alterin the the front leg and cut it out. Lay it on the back leg an copy the outline, so that the paw has the same size. Cut the back leg out too, and copy the outlines of the legs onto the legs of the body. Now make the line between the legs (on the body) longer (that's what the green line is supposed to be).
Now the only thing left is the belly. Extend the green line on the belly a bit, and take the legs. Turn them around, so that the paws show to the front, and the curves overlap (or rather should - the will overlap after this step :D) - What I want to say is that both curves (of the belly and the legs) should face inward. The pointy tips should touch the line you've extended.
I hope you understood what I've wanted to say :'D

just ask if there are any problems :D
oh, and don't make it that much slimmer as I did.. 1-2cm are probably already enough/too much, since the legs are rather slim to begin with :)
So if you want, you can try it, but the longer I look at it, the more I doubt if it's needed :D

Best thing probably is to make small dummys of both versions and just see for youself which one you like more :)

The only problem I see is the head because it's two colours unlike eevee which is all one colour may I ask if you have any advice for this?

:iconluminous-luchador:
Luminous-Luchador Featured By Owner Jun 8, 2015  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
sure :)

I would do it like this:
www.dropbox.com/sh/dnusm9vt4mr…
(see part 2 and 3)

the front head part needs to be splitted in two parts with a gentle curve at the side that connects to the back part, so something like the curve I tried to draw (it's difficult with the trackpad.. :( ) and it has to end with a rather flat..
If the whole curve is too flat, there won't be enough space for the eyes
the blue and orange lines show that these parts need to be the same length. The V in the nose is supposed to be a bit concave. The V should probably end where the muzzle....bends (?)..so slightly lower than what I've drawn :D

If you're not confident in you pattern designing skills I have another tip for you :D
When I'm not sure with a two-coloured head/... (e.g.: Luxray), I like to make a one-coloured head out of white fleece (and stuff it), and then draw the lines with a ballpen (or sth like that) on it. This helps me a lot, because then I can really see where I want the lines to be. You also can do this and then undo the seams, so that you have the flat pieces again. Then you can cut along the line, and copy that into your pattern :)

Hope I could help!
